Annual Renewals

Information about renewing your AMTRA status each year is sent to all AMTRA RAMAs in mid-October, by email or by post. We normally follow up with reminders around 10 November, and in late November.

Anyone wanting to continue to act as an AMTRA RAMA after the end of the year should have paid their annual renewal fee or had it paid by their employer by 30 November to avoid late fees. We will send a further reminder in December, but by then the late fee will be due.

VMD will be notified in January of those for whom no payment had been made. We will write to all those removed from the Register in January. Returning to the Register then incurs the higher reinstatement fee.

Individual RAMAs can pay by logging in with their AMTRA Login, usually first name plus AMTRA number e.g. John99002. The login ID appears on every email newsletter from AMTRA. Please contact AMTRA if you are unsure of your login details.

Employers can log in using their AMTRA Employer Login - which will be the RAMA format if that contact is a RAMA or student (e.g. John99002) or if not then usually the employer contact's Forename and Surname joined (e.g. ChrisSmith) to pay for their RAMAs, or to remove RAMAs who no longer work for them.

When paid by 30 November 2024 for the following year, the renewal fee is:

  • farm-animal RAMAs (those with the letters R, G, K or L in their prefix): £66, or £64/£65 including the discount described below
  • all other RAMAs (those with the letters, C, E, J or A in their prefix): £61, or £59/£60 including the discount described below

A discount of £2 per person is available in October, or a discount of £1 in November, to those paying by the due date either online on the AMTRA website (either as individuals or smaller businesses paying for multiple RAMAs), or for larger businesses managing their RAMAs' renewals on their behalf in an agreed manner.

A late payment fee is charged on those renewing after the deadline of 30 November but during December, making the total fee £79. After this, the reinstatement fee of £89 is payable.

Fees to renew for 2026 will be set in September 2025.
