Encouraging uptake of SCOPS and COWS AMTRA CPD
The Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority (AMTRA) has reported a strong uptake of new accredited SCOPS and COWS CPD modules.
The CPD modules, which have been funded by AMTRA, have been available since the Autumn, appearing in the September and November issues of OverTheCounter magazine, and also online, via the OverTheCounter website.
The CPD is independent SCOPS and COWS material; the first is a SCOPS module on ‘Sheep Scab – an update for prescribers’, and the second is a COWS module – ‘Controlling parasites in cattle at housing’. Each module will carry two CPD points, and will contribute towards the enhanced compulsory farm CPD obligation.
AMTRA chief executive Stephen Dawson commented “We know that the SCOPS and COWS articles in the magazine are popular, but now readers can gain CPD points for them too. This is part of our efforts to expand the range of CPD available – also including new CPD now available on the AMTRA website, such as the Sheep Dipping Code of Practice webinar, in association with SCOPS, as well as a module on Equine Prescribing, and another on Companion Animal Nutrition from ESCCAP.”
